The L293D 4-Channel Stepper Motor Driver Board Control Shield is a robust, high-voltage, high-current, 4-channel driver. This monolithic integrated chip allows you to operate DC motors and power supplies up to 36 Volts. It’s capable of handling some pretty hefty motors, supplying a maximum current of 600mA per channel. The L293D chip is also recognized as a type of H-Bridge, an electrical circuit that enables a voltage to be applied across a load in either direction to an output, such as a motor.
